What is KNX?
KNX is an international organisation (KNX Association) which - contrary to what many people believe - has neither factories nor production machinery and therefore manufactures nothing. Its sole role is to set strict specifications (standards) and carry out checks, such as:
- How modern electrical / electronic BUS building equipment should be manufactured
- Who is permitted to manufacture BUS products
- Whether manufactured BUS products meet KNX specifications
- Who is suitably trained and permitted to install KNX-certified BUS products (certified KNX Partners)
- The KNX system has been adopted by all the major electrical equipment manufacturers, such as:
ABB, Belden, Berker, Bosch, Busch - Jaeger, Cisco, Crestron, Daikin, Dialogic, Domotica, ELKA,Gira, Gorenje, Hager, Honeywell, Insta, Jung, Legrand, Merten, Moeller, Revox, Russound,Schneider Electric, Siemens, Somfy, Theben, Uponor, Vimar, Warema and many others.
